On Saturday, Mary Cate turned 2! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. Our little peanut is growing up so fast! We decided to have a small little gathering to help celebrate her special day. The theme was bubbles and balloons...two things MC really loves. We blew up balloons and had them everywhere and then had a bubble station out on the deck for the kids to enjoy. We invited 3 families that are girls love. We made sure each girl had a special friend there:)
The girls waiting for their friends to come so the party can start...I refused to let them eat anything or play with the bubbles and balloons until our guests arrived:)
Smiley Cate just waiting to celebrate:)
We did allow her to open one gift before the guests arrived. We gave her a horse that makes horse noises when you press the ear...she LOVES these horses! Mimi and Papa have some at their house and she cant get enough of them. So we decided to get a unicorn one. For weeks she has been picking up anything in sight (doll, kitty, stick, cars, pencils, etc.) and putting it between her legs and running around the house neighing like a horse;) Perfect gift!
MC's best bud, Sydney, playing alongside int he bubbles. These two crack me up! They barely interact or communicate, but they are always next to each other and get so excited when the other one is around:) they are side-by-side buddies;)
They decided bathing in the bubbles was so much more fun and totally the cool thing to do;)
We had food that represented bubbles and balloons. Peanut butter and jelly cut into circles (MC's FAVORITE sandwich), melon balls, oreos on a stick, fruity circle cereal and cupcakes. Yum!
MC chowing down on an oreo
She isn't too sure about the candle...she seems to be a little freaked out by the fire
unsure of all the attention and why her mother is placing fire in front of her
rescued by big sissy! She encouraged MC to blow out the candle and even showed her how to do up
yes, this was all she wanted...get the darn fire out of my cupcake!
staring each other down...apparently having a conversation through their eyes;)
sure, it's your party so go ahead and lick all the frosting off and ask for more frosting;)
Opening presents after nap time...I guess she wanted to try the clothes on right away!
hmmm, I don't think you can fit in the doll baby carrier...nice try though;)
her very own first baby doll...she's in love!
totally cramping her style, but I have a right to have a picture with the child I labored for;)
enjoying some more bubbles
oh yes, baby is now going everywhere with us...
off to birthday dinner...with baby
birthday ice cream!!
