Are we ready?...

Yesterday we got out the car seat in preparation for Mary Cate's arrival. It might seem a tad early to some since I still have just over a month left, but if we were on "Kendall time" she would be arriving in a little over a week. I'd rather be prepared than surprised:) Anyway, I'm not sure everyone in the house is ready for the new arrival...it looks like someone thinks they need to try it out first....

Not to be out done, Kendall had her turn in it as well. Hopefully when Mary Cate comes she will be the only one getting in and out of this car seat! I'm not banking on it though!!

Visit with Mimi and Papa

Mimi and Papa graciously kept the girls for me one morning so I could make an "uneventful" trip to the fabric store and do some other shopping while Andy was at work. I greatly appreciate their willingness to keep my wild little ones, but they seemed to have done extremely well...mimi and papa that is;) Just kidding, my girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Mimi took some pictures of what went on while I was gone...it looks like Kendall and the cat had quite a morning:)

Kendall "being nice and gentle" with the cat...oh I bet she was in heaven...Kendall that is;)

Kendall has this strange obsession...whenever she sees or feels anything soft, she immediately puts her thumb in her mouth and tries to snuggle and lay on whatever it is that is soft...she doesn't care if it's moving, alive or not...

still desperately trying to get a snuggle

so so close...I can hear her saying it now..."wanna snuggle kitta-kitta? It fun!"

Alley had a blast too. She played with the toy farm with uncle John, went up to Papa's church and played on the playground and in the sunday school classrooms. I don't think they could have had a better morning. I think there was some disappointment when they saw mom;) I guess Camp Mimi and Papa will have to happen again....darn;)

4th of July

Doesn't everyone wish they could spend their fourth of July relaxing in a hammock? Believe me, it was only Kendall and Alley that got the chance to "relax" on Monday. We had a very typical day, which is always busy busy in our house with two little girls. Mimi and Papa graciously invited us over to their cabin for a cook-out that night. We enjoyed ourselves immensely...as you can see, the hammock swing was a hit! I heard "higher", "faster" almost the whole time!

Kendall showing off her 4th of July beads...think she's excited?!

setting up a game of bowling. It was so funny, the first time we told Alley to throw the ball at the pins she drop kicked it and it knocked over every single pin!! That's my girl;)

very seriously considering her next move

um, wrong sport sweet-heart....

Our girls love corn on the cob! Kendall will sit there and suck on the cob forever! Both girls were ecstatic to help Mimi "shuck" the corn.

Kendall even helped...until she grabbed a piece and took a big ol' bite out of it...yuck girl!

showing Kendall what to do

yes, it was so hot and muggy outside...we decided to feed the girls ice cubes. At least they were in the spirit of the day...they had star-shaped ice cubes:)

oh yummy

Alley doing some last minute relaxing before the big storm blew in

um, I don't think she was very excited about this picture...check out that pout!
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!!

New adventure

Now that I've been a stay-at-home-mom for exactly a month, I am realizing I need a creative outlet. With all the sewing I've been doing for my girls over the past several months, I decided that maybe I should try and create some clothing and baby items for other people. So thus began my dream...

My hope is to continue to do what I love, creating personalized clothing items, but for other people not just my girls. Come check out my new website, you might find something you like:)
