Lake Days

We are so excited about getting to spend our summer going to the lake! What a blessing it is to live in a community that has so many public lake "beaches"! The girls are getting more confident with swimming (okay, lets be honest, I am feeling more and more confident about their swimming skills with all the lake days we've been having!) and really enjoying racing from dock to dock. Of course, its even more fun when daddy is able to come!

two peas in a pod…I wonder what deep conversations they are having…Alley is not one for casual, light conversation;)

Oh how I love them!

their favorite thing to do!

We also are spending a lot of our free time walking Bailey…its a win-win. Bailey gets lots of exercise and the girls get worn out;)

My three loves! I love how they play so well together at the lake…no if only I could get them to play this well at home!

And, here is a picture of us going on a date to Andy's co-workers wedding. It was so fun to get out and where real clothes:)

Richmond

This past week we got to meet our brand-new niece/cousin. The girls were so excited! Little Caroline was born the week before and was such a cutie!

Here are the girls, Caroline and Kim

Alley just couldn't stay away. She can't wait until she gets to hold little Caroline

To get some of our wiggles out, we went to play at Papa's church. The girls love playing there. Not only do we get to see Papa, but we get to play with "new" toys;)

Papa and his girls

For Christmas this past year, Mimi and Papa gave the girls a trip to go fishing with Papa and then a treat afterwards. We thought for the first trip that we would do all the girls together. I didn't know they would love fishing as much as they did! Of course we caught more trees than fish (the fish must have been frightened away!), but fun was had by all!

Alley LOVED fishing! She didn't catch anything, but she enjoyed casting our the bait and then reeling it back in. Practice makes perfect;)

MC actually did a great job too. Her attention span wasn't very long, but she loved trying to catch fish

Kendall enjoyed it as well. She preferred to sing to her fish, but did hold on to the reel to see if she could catch them that way.

Of course you have to have a treat after a long morning of catching trees, so off to Sugar Shack donuts! Oh yum! I will gladly fish all morning to get these donuts as a prize!;)

We also took a short day trip out to see Granny. The girls have been missing her and we were so excited to be able to join her for lunch.
Granny and her granddaughter and great grand daughters

Aunt Jess breezed through as well, so we all flocked to John and Kim's house for a short visit!
Til next time!

End of Preschool and Mothers Day

Kendall attended a preschool at a local church this year and they did a cute little end of the year/Mother's day celebration. It was so cute getting to see them preform and then see all they've done during the past year.

Here she is getting ready to sing some songs

Kendall told me she didn't do any of the songs hand motions because she didn't like them and wanted to do different ones…goodness, that child!

my sweet little preschool finisher:)

Then on Mother's Day weekend, Andy surprised me with some time at the shooting range! I was over the moon! I've been wanting to go shoot guns for awhile and we finally did it. It was so much fun! I can't wait until I can get back up there!

Hiking Brasstown Falls

We've been hearing a lot about how beautiful these 3 waterfalls are, so we decided we needed to get out and make this hike happen. It definitely was a "hike" and most of the time we felt like mountain goats scaling the rocky cliffs, but the girls LOVED IT. Our little hikers just cruised through and figured out what to hold on to to hoist them up and which way to go that would get them from point A to point B. I love that our girls appreciate nature and truly love going on walks/hikes in the forests.

the beginning…not too bad

ummm, Andy, you're a little too close to the edge...

me and my climbing partner…she is a quick little one. I think we might need to get her to a rock climbing gym!

Waterfall #3

it was fun to jump around in the water and try to catch fish…with our hands

As always, we enjoyed our hike and look forward to our next one!!
