Water

This weekend we embraced the extremely hot temperatures and spent some time with and in water. What else could be better than water on a steamy day?! Saturday we met some friends at the YMCA pool. It was our first pool trip of the summer and Alley enjoyed herself so much that she didn't want to leave! Kendall even got in and enjoyed the water. She splashed her feet and squealed the whole time. I sadly didn't take any pictures of our first pool trip, but we'll have many more pool moments this summer to document;)
Our second adventure with water happened to be in our front yard. Alley LOVES to be outside, which is great, except she wants to explore the neighborhood. Exploring isn't always easy when you have a 4month old and it's really hot. So to balance the wants of everyone, we decided to paint the sidewalk with water and paint brushes. To say Alley loved it is an understatement! She wants to do this every waking moment! Here are some pictures from today's painting episode.

Alley swapping paint brushes...apparently I don't do a good job of dipping the brushes in the water;)

painting circles, smiley faces, coloring in the stones, etc.

and the fun continues...:)
I have a feeling we will be doing A LOT of this over the next several weeks...but to be honest, I loved it too!

we just bought Anna a little baby float thing- can't wait to try her in the pool!

Josiah did the same thing when we were in Richmond last- except it was a basting (spelling?!) brush and in the bathtub... the thing he painted was my daughter :) hah!
